Git-R-Smoked Top 4 in every category!
CONGRATS to Terry McKay of "Git-R-Smoked" out of Okeechobee, FL on his 3rd Grand Championship of 2012. Terry held off 5-time winner this year Dana Hillis of Big Papa's Country Kitchen in the FBA event held in Barnesville, GA. Terry has maintained his ranking in the Top 4 throughout the year. What's more amazing is that he ranks in the Top 4 in every category. Congrats again Terry!

Rankings Updated
So yeah I have been a little behind recently, but am working to get caught up. Rankings have been updated and included all KCBS events through 5/6/2011. I will work on adding the rest. Sorry for the delay.
Update...
So I added a few more of the KCBS events and I have almost finished the weekend of the 13th. Rankings are current through those events.
Update #2
So I should be up to date on the GBA events and KCBS events through the weekend of 5/13/2011. I am going to start work on the KCBS events of 5/20 today.

Rankings updated.
I just finished adding in the few MBN contests that I was missing and I now believe that the rankings reflect all of the KCBS, FBA, and MBN contests. I need to finish adding the PNWBA and recent GBA events and then we will be back to completely updated. Sorry for the delay. If you see anything that I am missing or have wrong send me an email @ nationalbbqrankings@gmail.com and while I might be a little slow answering them, I will get to all of them and respond to you.
Thanks and I hope everyone is settling into the silly season and enjoys the upcoming break.

Quau wins the World Championship
This past weekend was the Jack Daniels World Championship in Lynchburg, TN. Nearly 80 teams from around the world all headed to the hallowed grounds to compete for the most prestigious prize in BBQ. There are contests with bigger payouts, there are more competitive contests, but none have the prestige of the Jack. Teams race around the country trying to earn qualifiers and even with several chances in the draw it is still up to old lady luck. This year was no exception. As the teams descend on Lynchburg everyone is asking the same question, “Who is going to be this year’s World Champion?” I thought that Mike Davis from Lotta Bull was really humming along with back to back grands leading into the Jack including the American Royal open. I Que was back to defend their title, and certainly one of the Iowa teams would have a say in who took home the title, but in the end it was the team that we should have all known was going to win, Quau. Mike Wozniak has been crisscrossing the country chasing bbq glory and, more importantly, big checks and shiny trophies. Quau is the winner of the inaugural Kingsford Point Chase, 9 KCBS grands, and now the Jack Daniels World Championship.
The Jack Daniels is a bonus event in the National BBQ Rankings and Quau used his finish this past weekend to move past Pellet Envy into the #2 spot. Bub-Ba-Q was not invited to the Jack Daniels this year, old lady luck left him at home, but he didn’t take the weekend off. Bub-Ba-Q took advantage of a rare weekend in Georgia by cooking two contests in one weekend all in his backyard of north Georgia. Bub-Ba-Q finished the weekend with 2 top 4 finishes to take back the top spot. I don’t know what has changed recently with Bub-Ba-Q, but since the Grant, FL FBA where he finished 5th he hasn’t finished outside of the top 4 with 2 grands and 2 reserve grands. It was that type of consistency that took Bub-Ba-Q to the top spot earlier this season and he looks to be heading in the right direction to close out the season. The FBA Triple Crown Championship is the last bonus event and with Pellet Envy and Quau not attending Bub-Ba-Q could really stretch out his lead heading into the off season.
